Cemeteries! aaaaaah RIP indeed

The beauty and tranquility that I find in the cemeteries around me is nothing short of wonderful! My favorite place to explore is the Mountain View cemetery, designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted—the architect of New York City's Central Park. Mountain View is truly a necropolis, full of massive ornate monuments, the place is rich with history . Each tomb is like unique little portal to another realm and time. There is also a little chapel at the entrance called Gothic Chapel! (just to let you know that coming to this cemetery is perhaps the gothiest thing you could ever do)
Directly before the entrance of the cemetery is a large building that serves as a columbarium ,crematorium, mausoleum and funeral home. This lovely labyrinth like home of the dead is called Chapel of the Chimes and it is one of the oldest of its kind in the state. The architecture is incredible and was designed by non other than Julia Morgan, the genius behind Hearst Castle!
Coming to these places is wonderful escape from the world, so if your ever in the bay area check it out because it my be the gothiest thing you will ever do :)

here are a few crooked pics I took at Mountain View cemetery and Chapel of the Chimes
